Monocouche render for façades in Palencia
Monocouche render coats, waterproofs and colours a façade in a single application. Executed properly, it protects the building envelope for decades and completely renews how the building looks.
Single-coat façade render: weatherproof, through-coloured and durable.

Everything depends on the preparation. We inspect the substrate, cut out loose areas, treat cracks and apply a bonding primer wherever the substrate calls for it. Over a poorly prepared base, even the best render will eventually crack.
We apply the render at the thickness the manufacturer specifies and work it to the chosen finish — scraped, dashed or float-finished — keeping a continuous rhythm across whole elevations so the colour stays even and no stop marks are left behind.
The critical details get proper attention: reinforcing mesh at junctions and changes of material, movement joints set out to control cracking, and drip beads at copings and sills so water runs clear of the façade instead of staining it.
What the work includes
- Survey and making good of the existing substrate
- Crack treatment and bonding primer
- Reinforcing mesh at junctions and detail areas
- Monocouche render applied at the specified thickness
- Scraped, dashed or float finish in the chosen colour
- Movement joints, drip beads and reveals around openings
- Weatherproofs the façade and protects the building envelope
- Colour is in the render itself — no painting needed afterwards
- A single application, so a shorter programme on site
- Breathable: lets water vapour escape from inside
- Minimal maintenance and excellent durability outdoors

Frequently asked questions
- Does the façade need painting afterwards?
- No. Monocouche render carries its colour within the mortar itself, so no subsequent paint coat is needed. That reduces maintenance compared with a finish that has to be repainted every few years.
- Why does monocouche render crack?
- Almost always because of the substrate. Before applying we check the façade, cut out friable areas, treat cracks and apply a bonding bridge where the substrate requires it. Over a poorly prepared base, even the best mortar will eventually crack.
- What finishes are available?
- We work in scraped, dashed and float finishes, in the chosen colour. The mortar goes on at the manufacturer's specified thickness and in complete bays, worked at a continuous pace so the colour stays even and no stop marks show.
- Does monocouche render waterproof the façade?
- It protects the wall against rainwater while remaining breathable, so water vapour from inside can still escape. Critical points are resolved with reinforcing mesh, movement joints and drip beads at copings and sills.
